Features of Australian Manuka Honey
Australian Manuka honey is carefully filtered at low temperature and is not subjected to additional processing.
This allows the natural aroma and flavor of the honey to be maintained.
It has a smooth texture and mild taste, making it enjoyable for people of all ages.
About Australian Manuka Honey
This honey is made from the nectar of the "Jelly Bush" flower found in Australia.
The Jelly Bush is a type of shrub known as Goryubai, belonging to the same family as the Manuka plant found in New Zealand.
It naturally grows in southeastern Australia and New Zealand, producing pink and white flowers in early summer around November.
Meaning of the Numbers +30, +100, and +550
These numbers indicate the content of Methyl GlyOxal (MGO).
This shows how many milligrams of MGO are present in 1kg of Manuka honey.
In 2006, a research team from the Technical University of Dresden, Germany, led by Professor Thomas Henle, identified MGO as one of the natural components found in Manuka honey.
MGO is naturally produced during the process where bees add enzymes to nectar, and the honey matures inside the hive.
